At Europe’s premier recycling and waste management show visitors could see the latest developments from Geesinknorba. The new GPMIV, a rearloader fit for the future, was here officially unveiled.
The GPMIV is fitted with a new control system that provides the driver a better interface with the rear loader and its equipment through an advanced display in the cab. The system provides a full diagnosis of the operating status of the vehicle, and can be used for troubleshooting by the drivers, or remotely by back office teams using GPRS or webbased software. The control system can be optimized for collecting different types of fractions, from wet waste to recycling materials.
The new GPMIV features a single sheet body which provides added strength without reducing durability. Due to the weight reduction and the use of high-strength, lightweight steel the body is used at its maximum capacity. Besides that the new design provides access room for easy maintenance to all key components like the oil pump, tailgate pivots and hydraulic system, which makes service easier and more economical.
Also on display was the LI-ON Power which delivers less noise and zero emissions whilst retaining an impressive capacity. Using lithium-ion batteries the vehicle has enough capacity to power the rearloader for an entire collection day. The PTO facility still exists, but for a collection round in urban areas it is normally not necessary.
Due to the significant weight reduction of the battery a separate mounting frame is no longer required and along with the reduction in size the payload has increased significantly which, in turn, further reduces fuel use and CO² emissions. The result is a highly efficient rearloader that is ideal for urban areas and low emission zones, as it operates more environmental friendly and quietly than other refuse vehicles.
The success of the current S500 lifter encouraged Geesinknorba to develop the equipment even further. The all-new S500 lifter has an interface that provides hydraulic and electrical connections that can be used with any type or make of collection body. This results in more user’s flexibility to exchange the lifter for quick repairs and service maintenance. For more information click here
